Camouflage your Gundam
Here's an easy way to camouflage your precious kits!
This method does not require high level skills in painting and you don't need to own an airbrush to pull this off. But it does however require a special item which may not be readily available in some hobby shops - Mr. Masking Sol Neo. Aside from its masking abilities and its use in camo painting, you can also use it to create chipping paint effect. So search your local hobby stores for this product and see your modeling skills improve tenfold.
Step 1. You'll need Mr. Masking Sol Neo, your choice of paints and a BBQ stick. I suggest using enamel and lacquer paints. Remember, you're going to paint in layers so we want to avoid using acrylic paints. Why? Painting a layer of enamel or lacquer paint over acrylic will dissolve the acrylic paint.
Step 2. Apply the first layer of paint. You can airbrush, hand paint or use paints in spray cans. After that, you'll need to make patterns using Masking Sol Neo. Apply it using the applicator brush attached to the cap or the tip of a BBQ stick for smaller and finer patterns..
Step 3. Make sure that the first layer of paint has dried well. Then apply the second layer of paint.
Step 4. Add more patterns using Mr. Masking Sol Neo.
Step 5.Apply the third and final layer of paint.
Step 6. When the last layer of paint is dry, gently peel away Mr. Masking Sol Neo from the surface.
You now have a cool looking Gundam/Mobile Suit.
Be creative and create different camo patterns and designs!
